Time for Prayer and Conversation
Centering Prayer Circle
Wednesdays; 3-4pm
Saturdays; 10-11am
What is Centering Prayer?
Centering Prayer is a receptive method of Christian silent prayer which deepens our relationship with God, the Indwelling Presence. When we practice Centering Prayer in community, we find that it not only deepens our experience of God’s presence within us but also with each other. You can learn more about Centering Prayer and it's guidelines here.
This is a drop-in, on-going gathering. We meet virtually over Zoom. Each session will start with Centering Prayer, followed by conversations around spiritual topics using articles, books, and videos as prompts.
We are currently using the book, Grounded: Finding God in the World (A Spiritual Revolution) by Diana Butler Bass as a conversation starter. You do not need to have read the book to join the circle.
Contempletive Advent--Walking with Mary
Starting Wednesday, November 29, we will be exploring the many names and images of Mary. During each session of our circle gathering we will reflect on what Mary has to teach us about our own nature. We will be using contemplative practices such as Lectio Devina, music, poetry, prayer, and readings. All of the sessions stand alone so you can come as you are able. If you have been wondering about the Centering Prayer Circle, this is a great time to join us and see if the contemplative path may be calling you.
