United Methodist Women is the largest faith-based women's organization in the world, with more than 800,000 members across the country. In West Ohio, we boast more than 12,000 United Methodist Women who are dedicated to our purpose. Our elected board of directors sets policy for the organization and guides members in their work to carry out the group’s goals and expectations. 

Jeanne Long, President

Jeanne is a retired educator (elementary music teacher and counselor) who has found new passions to pursue as a jurisdiction guide for Be Just Be Green, where she is able to work in environmental and economic justice issues through United Methodist Women. She has held leadership positions at local, district, conference, and jurisdiction levels of UMW as well as Mission u. Jeanne is a member of Cheviot UMC and United Methodist Women in the Ohio River Valley District. She works part time in a department store and has an adult son.

Janice Deal, Secretary

Janice is a member of Central Trinity UMC in Zanesville (Foothills District). She has served the Foothills UMW as communications coordinator and president. Janice i a freelance editor for medical journals and enjoys knitting and reading. She and her husband Duane have two grown children and one granddaughter.

Beth Vanoli, Mission Coordinator

Beth is a member of St.Paul UMC in the Miami Valley District. United Methodist Women is a valuable part of Beth's spiritual growth and development. She served the Miami Valley District UMW as secretary before becoming president in 2014, and is currently Vice President of the local unit at St. Paul. Her passion for mission extends across the city of Dayton as she serves on the board at Wesley Community Center. In 2012, Beth became an ambassador for the General Board of Church and Society's initiative "Healthy Families, Healthy Planet."

Sharon is a member of Trinity UMC in Lima in Northwest Plains District. She is currently the president of her local UMW. She is actively involved in music in a variety of ways. She has been married to Michael for 40 years.

Mary is a member of Worthington UMC in the Capitol Area North District. She has been an active member of the UMW since 2001, serving at the local level as circle leader, communications coordinator, program coordinator, and six years as president. She also served as the district communications coordinator for three years, and is presently the communications coordinator of mission u.

Denise is a member of Gaines United Methodist Church in the Ohio River Valley District. She has been active in United Methodist Women for many years, and previously served as district secretary.

Janis is a member of the Cloverdale UMC, Bowling Green, in the Maumee Watershed District. She is currently the Friendly Center Service Guild treasurer, and is on the Friendly Center board. She is married to Craig, and they have two married children and four grandchildren. Her grandchildren are an increasing part of her life. Music is a mainstay, as is UMW. 

Bev is a member of Christ UMC in Newark. After joining Christ UMC, she immediately became active and served on various committees. She is currently the local UMW Treasurer. Bev has served as Capitol Area South District Treasurer from 2012-2018. Bev is retired, and she thanks the Lord for the plan that He continues ot have for her in serving United Methodist Women.
 

Kay has been a member of Church of the Messiah, Westerville, in Capitol Area North District for 38 years. She has been in UMW since she was 18 years old and has served as a circle leader, unit president, district vice president and president, and on the conference nominations committee. She is a retired teacher. She is married to Paul and they have three sons and five granddaughters.

Barbara is an active member of Barlow UMC in the Foothills District and of United Methodist Women from the local to the conference levels. She considers her involvement in the church and UMW an adventure of love. She and her husband of 58 years have three sons and daughters-in-law, 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
