What is Church Camp?
Church camp is a special type of community where kids come together to have fun. Within the camp
setting, children develop a sense of independence as they try new adventures away from home. They
gain friendships that will last a lifetime and grow spiritually. Church camps are known for providing a
safe environment where children gain self-confidence as they learn new skills and grow closer to God.
As stated in Matthew 19:14, “Jesus said, Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for
the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." As United Methodist Women of the Miami Valley
District, we have the opportunity to let the children come to Jesus through Camp Scholarships. Each
year we accept applications and sponsor as many children as possible to attend camps throughout our
area. With the financial help from units like yours we can make this happen.
